LTTE Political delegation in Switzerland
Head of the LTTE Political Wing Mr. S.P. Tamilselvan along with his team met with Ambassador Blaise Godet, Head of the DFA Political Directorate and the Ambassador Peter Maurer, Head of the Political Affairs Division iv for human security in their respective offices in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, today the 3rd February 2004.
 The discussions focused on the progress of the peace process in Sri Lanka. Mr. Tamilselvan explained in detail the urgent humanitarian crisis caused by the non-implementation of measures to address the people's needs even though two years have lapsed since signing the CFA. Commenting further the Head of the Political Wing said that waiting for the resolution of the conflict between the executive President and the Prime minister could not go on indefinitely while urgent humanitarian needs are to be addressed. He therefore solicited the assistance of the international community to meaningfully intervene to address at least temporarily the humanitarian problems. The ministerial team assured that they would endeavor to consider necessary steps to alleviate the hardships of the people.
