
Increased naval vigilance patrols – Fishermen panicky
Jaffna fishermen have expressed fear to engage in fishing in view of the increased vigilance of the SL Navy in the Kakkaitivu seas. With the increased movements of naval fast moving boats, the fishermen are subject to frequent mid-sea checking of identity papers and threatening.
The naval personnel are reported to insisting on getting into the fishing boats with their arms and this menace is continuing unabatedly, the fishermen complain.
