
Foundation for the new hospital in Killinochi laid by the President of Asian Development Bank
Representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) headed by its president Mr. Tadao Chino, met with an LTTE delegation headed by Mr. S.P. Tamilselvan, the head of the political wing of the LTTE.
Issues relating to the rapid implementation of relief and reconstruction programs were discussed. Mr. S.P. Tamilselvan highlighted the plight of the roads in the Vanni region and the urgent need for these to be repaired. The ADB chief reiterated the commitment of the bank to a wider range of programs in addition to the A9 highway reconstruction and the construction of a new hospital in Killinochi already underwritten by the ADB.
