One killed and five injured including two children on the second of shelling
Artillery fire by Sri Lankan military stationed at the Kallaru camp continued for the second day taking more lives.
Today, the artillery shells hit the village of Sooranagar in Veruhal. People from this village had displaced to Vaharai and had returned back to their homes due to the difficulties they faced in Vaharai. Heavy rain and no proper roof over their head, food shortages and artillery fire forced them to return to their own village. People thought even if there is no food and even if they are hit by artillery fire, at least they will be in their own home. Five hundred and fifty families had thus returned to Sooranagar. Today’s artillery fire hit this village killing Kandaih Ganeson aged 35 and injuring five more Tamils. Among the injured are two year old girl Mathusa and six year old bo Jesu.
