University Student killed in Jaffna
Student of the faculty of Arts of Jaffna University was shot and killed when he was on his way to give classes at a tuition centre at Yettalai (Himen tuition centre) in Varani in Thenmaradchi.
Krishnar Kamalathas aged 24 was shot and killed around 6.45am on 18 February, 2007. The incident took place right in front of the Varani Sri Lankan military camp (see map). 
Kfir air strikes in Parasankulam, Puliankulam At least two civilians were killed and another injured in aerial bombing this morning. Sri Lankan Air Force Kfir planes bombed civilian settlements in the village of Parasankulam near Puliankulam around 7.30 am today, 20th February, killing at least two and injuring at least one. Parasankulam is a civilian village and there are no military installments. Our rescue team is presently at the spot and report that the casualties could increase as they continue with their search and rescue operations. Two claymore attacks in Nedunkerny Sri Lankan Military Deep Penetration Unit exploded two claymore mines today in the Nedunkerny area. One at 7.15am targeted an ambulance belonging Nedunkerni hospital. The second one at 8.20am targeted a civilian passenger bus. Luckily in both attacks the vehicles narrowly escaped damages causing no casualty. It is worth noting that in August last year, an ambulance with a doctor, nurse and two patients came under similar claymore attack by the Deep Penetration Unit in Nedunkerny killing all five passengers. Body of one disappeared fishermen washes ashore The decomposed body Sivananthan Suresh who went missing with another fishermen was washed ashore, 19th February in Mullaithivu. Karunakan Jegatheeswaran aged 22 and Sivananthan Suresh aged 32 went fishing in the early morning around 2.30am on 15th February in Maththalan, Puthukkudiyiruppu. Civilians heard gun boats attack at sea around 4.30am. The two fishermen never returned from the sea.
