
Two claymore attacks in Koorai kills one and injures another civilian
Two claymore attacks on two motorbikes carried out by the Sri Lankan military Deep Penetration Unit on 15 May killed one civilian and seriously injured another. Both attacks were carried out in Koorai in the Mannar district on 14 May.
The first of the two attacks took place around 9.30am on the motorbike belonging to forty two years old fisherman, Sellathurai Sakthivel, who was traveling towards Naddankandal with fish for marketing. He was killed on the spot as his body was blown to pieces. The second attack took place the same afternoon on the motorbike belonging to twenty nine years old, Kaththamuthu Kanapathy. He was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries.
