SLA meets District Head of the Political Wing in BatticaloaBrigadier Vajira Wijeyagoonewardana, GOC 23rd Division met Mr. Kausalyan, Head of the Political Wing, Batticaloa, Amparai District on Wednesday 22nd September 2004 in the Divisional Secretariat of Vavunativu.
The meeting was chaired by Major General Trond Furuhovde, Head of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission. The discussions were focused on the current political and security situation in the Batticaloa, Amparai District and upholding the Cease Fire Agreement. Associated with Brigadier Vajira Wijeyagoonewardana were Col. Laksiri Amarathunga, Mr. Jamaldeen and Ratnayake. Mr. P. Thayamohan, Head of the Administrative Section of Batticaloa, Amparai District, Mr. T. Kuyilinpan, Political Head of Amparai District and Mr. Marshal from the Head Quarters of Batticaloa, Amparai District were also participated in this meeting. 22 September 2004
