Tamilselvan discusses Rock report follow up with UNICEF-Sri Lanka HeadA meeting was held today in the LTTE Political Head Quarters in Kilinochchi between the Leader of the LTTE Political Wing, S P Tamilselvan, and UNICEF-Sri Lanka Head, Joanna Van Gerpen.The meeting was called to discuss the recent report by UN Special Representative, Allan Rock, and follow up actions.
Tamilselvan invited UNICEF to appoint a special representative to be in constant communication with the special representative to be appointed by the Child Protection Authority to discuss each case of complaint of underage recruitment as soon as it is received by UNICEF for immediate action. Tamilselvan also promised to submit a work plan for close cooperation with UNICEF on all matters that come under the Security Council Resolution 1612. 23 February 2007
