At the funeral held yesterday, Monday, and in the local media today felicitations are pouring for the assassinated AGA for Thunukkai, N Nanthakumar, who was killed on Sunday 29 June by a claymore attack carried out by the Deep Penetration Unit of the Sri Lanka military.

Multi Purpose Cooperative societies paid tribute to the immense services he had rendered even during his short life of 36 years. Farmers’ associations asked who will help them now while they languish, their roots severed when they were forced to leave their farms. The association in Vanni for the advancement of preschool education remembered the services given by him for improving preschool education. The association of businessmen remembered the selfless services rendered by him to them. Religious institutions remembered his humility with which he served even after he became the AGA.
