“JVP is not privy to Government’s proposed new agenda on peace talks”
-Tylvin Silva
Controversy within Government coalition “The agenda proposed by the government on recommencement of peace talks and said to have been rejected by the LTTE, was never shown to us and we are seeking clarification of it now” said Mr.Tylvin Silva, JVP’s General Secretary, according to a website report.
Mr.Tylvin Silva, it is said, has complained to the Deputy Defence Minister Mr.Ratnasiri Wickremanayake, alleging that the said agenda was neither discussed with the JVP nor that they are privy to government sending such an agenda to the LTTE. The report adds that the Sri Lankan Government formulated an agenda for the recommencement of peace talks and had forwarded it to the LTTE, but the Tigers, it is alleged, have rejected it for lack of clarity, insisting on a definite framework.
