Second aerial attack on Murasumoddai in two days kills five injures 21

Murasumoddai in Kilinochchi came under aerial attack for the second day in a row. Aerial attack at 10.45am on Thursday morning killed one civilian and another aerial attack around 1.00pm killed another four civilians. A total of 21 civilians including three children were injured in the two aerial attacks on Thursday. Many of the injured were civilians in the process of displacing and were passing on the road near the attack location.


The dead bodies and all the injured civilians were taken to the Tharmapuram hospital. The details and pictures on the victims were obtained from the Tharmapuram hospital.


Two aerial attacks a day earlier, on Wednesday, killed four civilians and injured 18 civilians.

From the series of attacks, it is clear that the Sri Lankan Government has shed all remaining traces of reservations on bombing and killing civilians. The people in Vanni are fearful that attacks will get worse in frequency and brutality.
