Schools unable to reopen in Vanni
Schools in Vanni are unable to reopen as announced due to the schools being used as refuge to large number of very recent IDPs.
More than 260,000 people and more than 200 schools in Vanni have already displaced. The displaced schools that have lost their permanent abode were operating in the facilities of the few remaining non-displaced schools causing huge problems of space. Even the facilities of these non-displaced schools are presently used as refuge for the very recent IDPs and this is preventing the re-opening of the schools for the New Year. In the meantime on Sunday around noon artillery fire of the SLA directed towards the Vaddakachchi area in Kilinochchi injured 14 civilians. They are,
1. Sarvananthan Saranya, female aged 17,
