
"Finland will continue its humanitarian assistance to North East"
Ms.Paivi LuostarinenFinland will continue its humanitarian assistance to North East and shall extend its fullest support to the peace process including the activities of the Sri Lankan Monitoring Mission (SLMM) said Ms.Paivi Luostarinen, Director General, The Americas and Asia, Finland Ministry for Foreign Affairs, in a meeting with the LTTE delegation led by Mr. S.P. Tamilselvan, Head of the LTTE political wing held in the Ministry complex today 15th October 2004.
 Mr.Tamilselvan and Ms.Paivi Luostarinen At the outset Mr.Tamilselvan Presented and overview of the current political situation in the context of the peace process and reiterated the necessity to effectively carry out urgent humanitarian delivery as promised in the Cease Fire Agreement (CFA). Continuing further, he said the Tamil People who are the real stake holders of the peace dividend should not be allowed to get disappointed over the non-fulfillment of urgent humanitarian needs even after two and a half years of CFA. Associated with the Director General were Johanna Suurpaa, Director, and Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Leo Olasvirta, Counsellor, Unit for Humanitarian Assistance, and Pekka Metso, Director Asia and Oceania.
