Sea Tigers never trespassed the Indian international borders at sea to abduct the Indian fishermen.
Commadore Uthayanarayanan Citna of the Southern Regional Commander of the Indian Navy said in a statement that "the Sea Tigers of the LTTE have never up to this time trespassed the Indian international borders at sea to abduct the fishermen of Tamilnadu but abductions by the Sea Tigers have taken place far away from Indian waters whenever the Tamilnadu fishermen were mistaken for persons on reconnaissance against the LTTE."
The information that the Sea Tigers abduct or torture the Tamilnadu fishermen is all false. The Sea Tigers arrested only those who go far away from Indian waters and enter Sri Lankan waters. Indian fishermen go fishing far into Sri Lankan waters where a good variety of prawns and fish are found for their catch and they get arrested either by the Sea Tigers or the Sri Lankan Navy.
