
One civilian killed, eight injured including two children in Sri Lanka bombing
One civilian was killed and eight civilians including two children were injured in the Sri Lanka Air force bombing in the coastal areas of Mullaithivu town. Sri Lankan Air Force bombing took place around 9.30 am on 21st April 2008.
Ukanthan aged 18 from Ampalavanpokkanai was killed on the spot.
 Laxshana aged 5, Krishalini aged 8 both from Mullaithivu, Kanistan aged 17 from Ampalavanpokkanai, Thiyagarajah aged 48 from Visvamadu, Suthakaran aged 22, from Tharmapuram, Jeevaratnam aged 65, Antony Jerald aged 42, and Saththiyanathan aged 42 all three from Mullaithivu were injured in the bombing and were admitted in Mullaithivu district hospital. Sri Lanka bombers returned again the same evening twice between 4.30pm and 5.00pm near Vannankulam Tsunami memorial in Mullaitivu. No one was hurt in the two evening sorties but boats and fishing equipments were destroyed in all three sorties. Two civilians injured in DPU Claymore atack Sri Lankan military Deep Penetration Unit targeted a lorry in Anaivilunthan, Vanneri around 1.00 am 22nd April morning. The lorry driver, Elilmehavarman, and his assistant, Tharmajeyanthan, were injured in the attack.
