
Claymore attacks kills one and injures two
A claymore attack by the Sri Lanka military’s Deep Penetration Unit (DPU), on 5th September, killed one civilian and injured another , while both were travelling on a motorbike.
The pair was travelling from Puliyankuam towards Nedunkerni when their motorbike came under the claymore attack at 3.45pm. Nineteen years old Ponnaih Jeganathan was killed and his co-rider thirty five years old Rasan Mano was injured in the attack. In the meantime, in another claymore attack on a tractor by the DPU, around 1.30pm on 4th September, the driver of the tractor, forty eight years old Srivasakam was seriously injured. That tractor too was going from Puliyankulam towards Nedunkerni.
