
SLN attack refugee boat: 3 killed, 3 injured
SLN attacked refugees who were going to India from Nachchikuda, Thalaimannar at Pesalai Sea around 6.00am on 18th October. Three civilians including 2 children were killed and three injured in this attack.
 Two children of Pushpamalar aged 34 and their grandfather were killed and Pushpamalar and other two children were injured in this attack. Pushpamalar’s husband, Sepamalai Jesuthasan is believed to be taken by the SLN. Pushpamalar said “we saw the Navy ships coming towards us and thought that is of Indian Navy. But we identified them as Sri Lankan Navy when they closed us. We waved fight flags and cried not to shoot. But they shot at us even after identifying us as civilians. My husband jumped into the sea and went towards SLN ship and appealed them not to shoot us, but they did.”
