Shelling in Manalaru injures five civiliansShelling by SLA stationed in Manalru, yesterday around 12.00noon, injured five civilians.Rockets fired by Multi Barrel Rocket Launchers (MBRL) fell in the villages of Kumulamunai, and Arumuhaththankulam and in the Thanimurippu paddy fields. The five injured civilians were harvesting the rice from the fields when they were hit by the rockets. The injured are receiving treatment at Mullaithivu and Puthukkudiyiruppu hospitals. Eight houses were damaged in the attack and several productive trees were destroyed. 22 August 2008
