LTTE's flexibility-Government must make use of it
-Dr. Jehan Perera in Jaffna
"The LTTE having engaged in an armed struggle has now entered into political negotiations, clearly exhibiting their flexibility. The government must make use of this position and recommence political negotiations without further delay, said Dr, Jehan Pererea, Media Director of the National Peace Council (NPC) in a press briefing in Navalar Hall in Jaffna. The NPC sponsored a fact finding tour of the North to the southern based journalists. At the end of the tour of the peninsula Dr. Jehan Perera presided over a press meet on Wednesday the 15th. Journalists in the Jaffna peninsula and representatives of CBOs participated in this news conference. Dr. Jehan Perera continuing further said that the LTTE which was insisting on institutionalizing the ISGA prior to recommencement of talks is now prepared to enter into negotiations on the basis if the ISGA proposals submitted by them and this he said is a welcome change and should be reciprocated and made use of by the government".
