Alampil aerial bombing disrupts GCE OL examinations
At 12.00 noon on 12 December, Sri Lanka Air Force dropped several bombs on the civilian settlements in the Alampil village. Two civilians, S Mathan aged 20 and M Kesavan aged 30, were injured in the bombing.
The bombing was very close to two GCE OL examination centres, one at Alampil Roman Catholic Mahavidhyalayam and the other at Kumulamunai Mahavidhyalayam. More than 300 GCE OL students were sitting examinations in these two centres at 12.00 noon. The students not only were forced to run out of the examination halls due to the bombing, their state of mind after the bombing was not at all conducive to complete their examinations.
