Five civilians including a 15 year old boy and woman abducted in Amparai
Five civilians including a 15 year old boy and a 22 year old woman were abducted by the Karuna group and SLA in Batticaloa two weeks ago.
Members from Karuna group and SLA came to houses of these civilians and took them away. They are now being held in a camp of Karuna group in Thampiluvil. The details of the abducted civilians are as follows: 1. Velayutham Jeyasingam (48), father of 6 children

Vinayagapuram – 3. Two civilians killed by the SLA including a Technical College student in Jaffna Another student of Jaffna Technical College (High Tech), was shot and killed by the SLA near Mudamaavadi junction within Jaffna Municipal Council area around 7:45 am on 2nd August.
Thanikasalam Sasiroopan aged 25 from Nallur, Jaffna, was killed by the SLA came on a motor cycle when he was riding on his motorbike. The SLA and its paramilitaries shot and killed Sahathevan Deluxshan, 22, a media student and a part-time journalist on 1st August. Another youth was shot and killed by the SLA at Maseri, Varani in Thenmaradci on 31st July. The victim was identified as Krishnan Vaseekaran, 22. The SLA arriving at Vaseekaran's house called him out and shot him dead at point blank range. Four civilians seek protection in the Jaffna Human Rights Commission Four civilians have sought protection in Jaffna Human Rights Commission following the threatening by the SLA and its paramilitaries in Jaffna. A mother and her two children from Gurunagar have sought protection in Human Rights Commission. Selvarajah Vijitha aged 38 and her two sons Seyon aged 16 and Jonson aged 13 came to the Rights Commission and complained that they were threatened by the SLA and paramilitaries. Another youth also has sought protection fearing for his life.
All four civilians have been handed over to police to protect in prison through the court. More than hundred people have sought protection through the human rights commission in prison. 15 year old student abducted by SLA A 15 year old student has been abducted by the SLA from his relative’s house in Kopay during curfew hours.
