
Black Tiger Day commemorations in Tamil Homeland
Black Tiger Day commemorations are being held in the Tamil homeland on 5 July to honour all the Black Tigers who have given their lives for the freedom of their people. The first Black Tiger, Captain Miller, sacrificed his life on 5 July 1987 in Jaffna, which was marked as Black Tiger Day.
 The day was commemorated throughout Northeast with special events. Uprising events, commemorations, and cultural events took place in all parts of Tamil homeland. 
Black Tiger Day commemorations were held in the Tamil homeland and also celebrated by Tamil Diaspora overseas. To date 322 Black Tigers including 90 females have given their lives as weapons in war.
