
Skeletons in SLA's former Vanni cupboard.
Skeletons were found by workers engaged reconstruction in the compound housing the deputy provincial health office yesterday, 29th of September. These skeletons were found under the debris of the former Kilinochchi hospital building, which was under military occupation for over 2 years. Along with these were also found parts of worn out women's clothes. There were traces of the mouths of the victims having been tied with strings of fertilizer bags.
In and around Kilinochchi several hundreds of civilians were reported of missing after having ventured to collect their belongings and garden produce during military occupation. These people who were originally chased away from their homes by military shelling and arial bombing during SLA's military operation code-named 'Sathjaya'.
