
Newly built tsunami homes destroyed by Sri Lanka air force bombing
At 5.00pm yesterday, 19 April, Sri Lankan air force bombers dropped bombs in the Silavaththai area in Mullaithivu injuring two civilians, destroying newly built tsunami homes and causing several other damages.
One of the injured Koneswaran, aged 35, is seriously injured and has been admitted to the Mullaithivu district hospital. Many of the tsunami homes built with the assistance of the German Red Cross were damaged in this bombing. More than 20 boats and other fishing equipment belonging to the fishermen of the area were destroyed by the bombing. One traveler on a motorbike dropped his motorbike and sought safety. He escaped being hurt but his motorbike was broken to smithereens.
