
NESOHR marks international human rights day
North East Secretariat on Human Rights (NESOHR) marked the international human rights day, today, at a function in the Kilinochchi cultural hall attended by hundreds of people.
 Head of the LTTE Political Wing, B Nadeson, giving the keynote address said that the struggle of the Tamil people is to earn their human rights. He said that the international community does not seem to have grasped this fact and continues to speak only about human rights without giving due recognition for the struggle of the Tamil people to earn their human rights. .jpg)
The Chairperson of NESOHR, Fr Karunaratnam, spoke about the human rights violation of “forced eviction”. A handed out on the UN standards against forced eviction was also handed to the people while he delivered his speech. Director of Education for Kilinochchi district, Kurukularaja, also spoke at the event. He highlighted the trauma faced by the school children due to the aerial bombings. He said that many rights of the children in Kilinochchi are being violated by indiscriminate attacks.
