LTTE denies the media report
LTTE Political Head Quarters issued a statement to the media regarding the press report.
Full text of the Press release of the LTTE Political Wing: Our attention is drawn to a media report that LTTE Peace Secretariat Director Mr.Pulithevan and others met with four senior Sri Lankan ministers in Vavuniya and discussed matters pertaining to LTTE's interim administration proposals. We wish to place on record that this news is totally untrue. When the Interim Administration proposals were handed over to H.E the Norwegian Ambassador Hans Brattskar at Kilinochchi, Mr.SP.Tamilselvan Head of the Political Wing clearly stated that the LTTE is prepared to discuss the proposals with the government of Sri Lanka and that discussion should be arranged by the facilitators and take place with their participation. The Liberation Tigers and by extension the Tamil people have full satisfaction and confidence in the commitment of the Norwegian government to bring about lasting peace and resolution of the conflict in Sri Lanka. Under the circumstances, misleading news of this nature, based purely on speculation, will only create a state of confusion in the minds of the Tamil people, the Norwegian facilitators and the international community at large. It is the wholehearted wish of the LTTE and the Tamil People that any future peace negotiations including that of the Interim Administration, should be with the facilitation and support of the Norwegian facilitators. In this respect, it is pertinent to mention here that all our discussions relating to the resolution of the conflict will be with the facilitation of the Royal Norwegian government in a transparent manner and will be followed up with our official press release. We strongly object to this type of speculation that tends to create confusion and therefore request the media and personalities connected with the report to refrain from releasing news that are far from truth.
