
The Iyankulam carnage - 27 November claymore by Sri Lanka
On 27 November, the final of the three day Heroes Day commemoration, Sri Lanka launched its typical campaign of carnage. In the morning its Deep Penetration Unit launched a claymore attack on a vehicle carrying a first aid team consisting of six school children, two young volunteer first-aid trainers, and the driver, killing everyone in the vehicle. Four of the students are from of Iyankulam Government Tamil Mixed school (ITMS) and one student is from Mullaithivu/Yohapuram Mahavidhyalayam (MYMV). Their details are provided below.
 School students killed from left to right:
1. Nithianandan Nitharsana, female aged 13 (DOB: 8 Jan 1994), student at ITMS,
2. Nagaratnam Mathiharan, male aged 15 (DOB: 24 September 1992), student at ITMS,
3. Karunaharan Kowsika, female aged 15, (DOB: 2 April 1992), student at ITMS,
4. Nagaratnam Pratheepa, female aged 16, (DOB: 9 March 1991), student at ITMS,
5. Chardrasekaram Dirosa, female aged 17, (DOB: 5 April 1990) student at ITMS,
6. Shanmugavel Sakunthala, female aged 17, student at MYMV,
First aid volunteer trainers killed:
7. Atputharaja Ajinath, male aged 22, (DOB: 10 March 1985)
8. Vairamuthu Krishnaverni, female aged 25
Also killed was the driver of the vehicle.
