
"Finland will continue supporting peace process"
Ambassador, Finland Foreign Affairs. In an informal meeting in LTTE Peace Secretariat Kilinochchi today, 21st October with Mr. S. P. Tamilselvan, Head of the Political wing, Mr. Mikko Pyhala, Ambassador, Asia and Oceania, Ministry for foreign affairs of Finland reinforced the commitment of his country and its people towards the peace process and final resolution of the Tamil people's national problem.
At the outset Mr. Tamilselvan welcomed the ambassador and thanked the Government of Finland for its initiative in the LTTE Political Affairs Committee familiarizing itself with the federal setup in Finland and the services rendered by Finland monitors in the SLMM. The Ambassador said that he was able to see for himself, during his short stay in the Vanni, the immense progress made in the area of demining and promised that Finland would continue its support towards the projects that are already underway. Mr. Tamilselvan extended the Tamil nation's invitation to ministry officials and academics n Finland to visit the NorthEast with a view to see for themselves the ground realities relating to the conditions prevailing.
