
Sinn Fein MPs meet LTTE delegation
Deviating from the regular session of discussions pertaining to Interim Administration the LTTE team visited the Irish parliament DAIL in Dublin today 9th October morning.
This visit was in response to an invitation from Sinn Fein MPs Aengus O Snodaigh(TD), Martin Ferris(TD) a wide ranging discussion focusing attention on post conflict scenario took place. Associated with the LTTE team were Peter Bowling, Head of the International Working Group based in London, Anthony Reagon, Specialist in Constitutional Law and post conflict settlement process and Clem McCartney, Facilitator and Advisor on International Affairs, Northern Ireland.
The Sinn Fein MPs briefed the LTTE delegation with their experience in a post conflict situation vis-à-vis an Interim Administration. They reiterated the necessity for an effective Interim Administrative mechanism in the backdrop of a protracted war which has caused immense devastation to the infrastructure in the North East of Sri Lanka. The Sinn Fein MPs cautioned the LTTE delegation to pay more attention to the needs of the people and build confidence so that they can be active partners in the peace process.
