
Mullaithivu fishing settlements attacked from air and sea for two days
Today, 8 February 2007, Sri Lankan Kfirs bombed the tsunami temporarily settlements in Alampil, Mullaithivu at 11.00 am . The air raid came after surveillance plane flew over the area the day before.
In the same place, two Sri Lankan Navy Dvora boats fired motor shells on the civilian settlements at 11.30 am yesterday morning. Fishermen from Kallappadu, fishing in Mullaittivu sea, rushed to the shore by cutting their nets into the sea when the Sri Lankan Navy, came in two Dvora boats and fired at them. One of the fishermen escaped the attack by swimming leaving his boat in sea. In Jaffna, nearly 400 fishermen, fishing in Vadamaradchi east sea, also came under attack by the Sri Lankan Navy yesterday. They were fishing in Kudaththanai inside the area permitted by the Sri Lankan Navy. All the fishermen rushed to the shore without their fishing equipments when the Sri Lankan Navy continually firing approached them.
