Civilians from Siraddikulam-Mannar are displacing to escape shelling
People from Siraddikulam in the Mannar West AGA division have started to displace from their homes since Monday 7 May after shells fired by the Sri Lanka military started to explode in their homes.
The people have indeed started to pack up their things and move. An indication that they expect to remain displaced for a longtime which they have seen happening to the people in other areas of Mannar. People from Musali-Mannar who were asked by the Sri Lanka military to vacate their homes in October 2002 was told at that time by the Sri Lanka military that they will be able to return to their homes in 2-3 days. However, they remain displaced until now.
