Tamil fisherman killedA Tamil civilian was shot and killed in Point Pedro yesterday. Jaccob Iruthayajeniraj aged 32 from beach road was shot and killed when he was on his way to Grama Sevakar Office.Jaccob Iruthayajeniraj went SLA camp in Point Pedro harbour to get permission for his sister's wedding. On his return he went to Grama Sevakar Office.
Three civilian sought refuge in Human Rights Commission Three civilians from the same family have sought refuge in the Human Rights Jaffna branch for their safety. A 24 year old man, his wife and their child went to the Human Rights Commission for their safety yesterday evening. This family was displaced from Allaipiddy and lived in an IDP camp in Jaffna St. Mary's Church. Sri Lankan Military from the near by military camp and the paramilitary tried to abduct the man from the IDP camp. After this the family sought refuge at the Human Rights Commission Jaffna branch for their safety. This is 58th case of civilians seeking refuge in the Human Rights Commission Jaffna branch and then placed in prison for their own safety.
