Refusal by Security Forces to hand over vacated houses to owners at Manthuvil in Thenmaradchi
The camps of the security forces in the residential areas at Manthuvil in the Thenmaradchi Division have been closed down and the houses they occupied are remaining vacant now but there was an incident where the security officers refused to hand over the houses to the owners who claimed them. This happened at West Manthuvil.
The security forces have been forcibly occupying four houses, belonging to people near Vempirai junction in West Manthuvil, for more than three years. They had vacated many other houses earlier. Likewise, they removed all the security equipments, tractors and other good from the four houses promising to hand over them to the respective owners. Following this good action of the security men the owners of the vacated houses returned to the area anticipating to take over their houses and to resume residence but the responses of security men who remained in the area were badly disappointing. The owners were told that the security men remaining there had not been until then advised in this regard by their High Command of Security Division 52. On this the owners had to go away disappointed and disheartened.
