
Thondaman-Tamilselvan meeting in Kilinochchi.
The Leader of the Ceylon Workers Congers (CWC) Mr.Arumugam Thondaman,.M.P.,Hon.Minister met with with Mr.S.P.Thamilselvan Head of the LTTE Political Wing in the Peace Secretariat in Kilinochchi today.
The discussions that lasted for about for two hours, centered mainly on the proposals to be submitted by the LTTE for an Interim Administrative structure in the war ravaged NorthEast. Mr.Thamilselvan briefing the media men after the meeting said that the CWC Leader has assured his party's full cooperation and support to both the Government and the LTTE in the endeavor to establish an Interim Administrative structure. He further said that the proposals would be handed over to the Norwegian facilitators on the 31st of October. Answering a question whether direct talks with the Government are likely to take place soon, Mr.Thamilselvan said that the LTTE is ready to commence talks with the government on the proposals for an Interim Administrative structure and it is left to the Government to decide on the date. Mr.Thondaman responding to a question from the media whether CWC has contributed any inputs to the set of proposals, said that it is the Liberation Tigers who spearheaded the Tamil freedom struggle and therefore the LTTE is morally the Organization that formulate the proposals to alleviate the hardships of the Tamil people caused by war and take the peace process forward. The minister further said that the CWC would render its fullest support and cooperation to both the LTTE and the government towards bringing about a final resolution and lasting peace. Along with Mr. Mr.Thondaman CWC parliamentarians Mr. M.S. Seliasamy and Mr.R Yogarajah, Financial secretary of CWC Mr.M.S Muthu Sivalingam and Mr.Jegatheeswaran were also participated in the meeting with Mr.Tamilselvan. The Head of the LTTE Political Wing said that there will be a media briefing on 1st November in Kilinochchi after handing over the proposals on the 31st.
