
Sri Lanka artillery fire injures woman in Chemmalai-Mullaithivu
A 35 year old mother of three children, Ravikumar Rajeswari of Chemmalai, was injured by Sri Lanka artillery fire, from its Manalaru camp, on Monday when the shells fell inside a Chemmalai civilian settlement.
 The woman has been admitted to the Mullaithivu district hospital. People of the area are living in fear of further shells falling inside their settlements. Vadamaradch East – Jaffna pre-schools closed due to Sri Lanka military offensives Thirteen of the 22 preschools operating in the Vadamaradchi-east education zone are closed because they are unable to function as a result of the military offensives of the Sri Lanka military. The Education Director for the zone, Sathyaseelan, said that even the remaining nine pre-schools are facing many obstacles for its operation because of the prevailing situation.
