
Black Tigers' Day Celebrations
Black Tigers' Day, commemorating the unrivalled spirit of the Black Tiger cadres was celebrated across the North and East on Saturday, 5 July 2003. The Day is observed on the anniversary of the supreme self sacrifice by the first Black Tiger, Captain Miller in 1987.
Tamil national leader, Mr. Velupillai Pirapaharan, participated in one of the functions held at an LTTE camp and lit the symbolic lamp at 7.05pm and garlanded the portrait of Capt. Miller. Special commander of the Black Tigers, Col. Soosai addressed the gathering and also released the latest music CD (Volume 6) honoring the Black Tigers. The first CD was presented to the LTTE Leader, Mr. Pirapaharan. Many cultural events followed.
