
"Our commitment to the peace process is very firm"
Tamilselvan in Stockholm "As a responsible freedom movement of the Tamil people, we wish to assure the international community that our commitment to the peace process and the Cease Fire Agreement remains undeterred by any obstacles", said Mr. S. P. Tamilselvan in the LTTE delegation's meeting with Ms. Annika Bjurner SODER, State Secretary, Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in the ministry complex on 21st October 2004.
 Mr.Tamilselvan with Swedish State Secretary Ms. Annika Bjurner SODER The State Secretary showed keen interest in the peace process and expressed dismay over the inability of political forces in the south to reach a consensus in resolving the national conflict which is very vital for the betterment of the country as a whole. Mr. Tamilselvan dealt with at length on the various aspects of the political development in the south with special reference to the main opposition party the UNF offering unconditional support to the government in the peace process. Summing up the supportive role of Sweden during the difficult days and the cease fire period, the State Secretary said, Sweden will whole-heartedly support Norway in its facilitatory role and continue with the humanitarian delivery in the war affected NorthEast. Associated with the State Secretary was Ms Eva Walder-Brundin, Ambassador, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department for Asia and Pacific.
