
Sri Lanka aerial bombing kills eight, including three children, in the north
3rd LeadEight civilians, including three children, were killed and fourteen more were injured, four of them critically, when Sri Lanka bombed a coastal civilian settlement in the Kiranchi area in Poonahari in the Kilinochchi district at 9.00am today, 22 February.
 
An infant and a child aged four from the same family are among those killed as the bomb fell on their home. Another child aged four was also killed. Five of those killed died instantly following the bombing and three more of the critically injured died later. Among the injured civilians taken to the hospital are four children, all aged under eight. Names of those killed and injured are listed at the end.
