
Five month old infant and two more civilians killed by SLA shelling
Five month old infant, Ajanthan Jeyaruban, sleeping in his baby hammock was instantly killed when artillery fired by SLA hit his stomach. His mother, Jensi aged 26, was seriously injured and admitted to hospital.
The two were at their home in Hudson Road in Vaddakachchi in Kilinochchi west. The incident took place on Saturday at 9.15 am. The family had displaced from Sinnapandivirichchan in Mannar and were living in Vaddakachchi after displaacing multiple times. SLA conducted heavy shelling in Kilinochchi on Saturday and in another incident in Kanakapuram in Kilinochchi two civilians were killed and another was injured. One of those killed is Ramaih Balendran and the other body is yet to be identified because his family is displaced and lives in Visuvamadu. The man injured is 17 years old Tampiah Yasiharan.
