Paranthan bombed with suspected cluster bombs
Sri Lanka Air Force bombed the area 600 meters from the Paranthan-Mullaithivu Roads junction on Wednesday morning, destroying a Holy Convent church, killing more than 50 cows from a herd, and destroying several commercial buildings in the vicinity.

The statue of Mary in front of the church was broken hurting the feelings of the Christians on the Christmas Eve. The bombs used in this instance bears resemblance to those used on 29 November in the bombing of Ulavanoor settlement in Mullaithivu. Parachutes and the container that carried sub munitions were strewn in the area, raising again suspicions that the bombs used were cluster bombs.
