STF forcefully entered into LTTE Political Office in AmparaiSpecial Task Force (STF) forcefully entered into the LTTE Political Office in Amparai yesterday and attempted to carriy out a search operation. The LTTE members at the office, explained to the police that they have the right to inspect the office only in the presence of the SLMM. The LTTE members were insistent thatthey will not allow the STF or Sri Lankan Army to carryout search operation in their office without the presence of the SLMM.In the end, the police and the district SLMM monitors were called to the scene around 6.20 pm and the LTTE then allowed the police to inspect the office. No weapons or military equipment were found as accused by the STF and the police. LTTE political office in Ampari has severely condemned the search operation. They further said STF, SLA and the police are carrying out these type of activities so as to provoke the LTTE and disturb their effective political work.
