Vatican Ambassador expresses condolences to bereaved people in North- EastHis Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Mario Zenary, Apostolic Nuncio, Vatican Ambassador to Sri Lanka expressed condolences to the bereaved people in North-East in a meeting with Mr.S.P.Tamilselvan today, 5 Jan 2005 at the Peace Secretariat in Kilinochchi.
The Papal Emissary said that he was saddened at the devastation he saw at Mullaittivu and expressed solidarity with the people in their efforts to resettle. Mr.Tamilselvan thanked the Ambassador for the kind gesture of His Excellency in visiting the devastation sites and the welfare centres. Accompanying the Ambassador were the Bishop of Jaffna Rt.Rev.Dr.Thomas Savundaranayagam and parish priests from the district.
