Tamil Uprising in TrincomaleePeople Uprising is to be held in Trincomalee. A meeting to discuss about staging People Uprising in Trincomalee held in Vickneswara Mahavidyalayam on 2nd October. R.Sampanthan and Thurairetnasingham of Tamil National Alliance, business communittee, officials from the government departments and representatives of CBOs participated in this meeting.
It has been decided to hold the People Uprising on 22nd October in Trincomalee. Tamil people already converged in Batticaloa, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Mannar and Jaffna to reconfirm the resolution taken at the Vauniya Tamil Uprising conference that voiced the collective message of the Tamil people to the international community relative to the political void in which they are placed in the name of a cease fire agreement and the peace process that has failed to deliver the dividends of peace. 03 October 2005
