
MOU on Post-TOMS sees the light of the day
Much delayed, debated and often cynically opposed Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of a Joint Mechanism for post tsunami humanitarian delivery, resettlement, reconstruction and development has, at last, been signed by the parties, the Government of Sri Lanka (GOSL) and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam today 24 June 2005.
 H.E. The Ambassador for Norway Mr. Hans Bratskar and the Embassy officials brought the document this morning, already signed by Mr. M.S.Jayasinghe, Secretary, Ministry of Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconciliation on behalf of the Government, had discussions with Mr.S.P.Tamilselvan and other LTTE officials at the LTTE Peace Secretariat. At the end of the discussion, Mr. S.Ranjan, Deputy Head of the LTTE Planning and Development Secretariat (PDS) signed the MOU on behalf of the LTTE in the presence of Mr.S.P.
