“Hand over the cultivating land to the people”- Emphasizes Thenmaradchi Farmers Association“Sri Lankan Security Forces should hand over the cultivating land to the people for paddy cultivation during the rainy season this year”, emphasized Thenmaradchi Farmers Association. The Association has further stated that hundreds of acres of paddy land, unlawfully occupied under the name of High Security Zones (HSZs) should be handed over back to the people and enabling them for the seasonal paddy cultivation. And the Farmers Association further stated that the security forces should come forward to clear the paddy lands which are covered with bushes and planted with land-mines and hand over to the public for cultivation. 01 August 2005
