A team of nine armed men in SLA uniforms attacked over LTTE boarder line check point Friday early morning in Punagar in Trincomalee District. This Punagar village is only 600 meters from Mahinthapura military camp. An aide of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) was killed and another injured in this attack.
Mr. Elilan, Head of the Trincomalee District Political Wing stated that he had lodged a complaint three days earlier to the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission that the members of Karuna faction had been given shelter in the SLA camps in that area.
