Norwegian facilitators met Tamil National leader
Norwegian facilitators met Tamil National leader Mr. V.Prabaharan today 22 January 2005 and had a discussion for about two hours pertaining to the plight of Tamil people who were affected by Tsunami and the current political situation.
Associated with Mr.Prabaharan were LTTE Chief Negotiator Mr. Anton Balasingham, S. P. Tamilselvan, Head of the Political Wing, Mr.P.Nadesan, Head of Tamil Eelam Police, Sea Tiger commander Col. Sosai and Mrs Adele Balasingham. Mr. Prabaharan explained the Norwegian facilitators that the Tamil people suffered a lot by Tsunami as well as for the last thirty years. They confronted enormous damages and deaths during Tsunami 1 & 2. The villages of Tamil fishermen from Mathagal to Amparai are still occupied by security forces and most of the resources of Northeast have been destroyed and people of these villages are also not there. Heavy and massive damages occurred during the war and it can be called as Tsunami -1. High tidal waves caused massive damages which can be said as Tsunami-2. These incidents cause heavy casualties and a large number of deaths. See the long history of our people by forgetting the ethnic conflict and Tsunami. For the last 50 years people had met a long suffering. The international communities have turned this side and concentrating on us after Tsunami. By looking this problem of this people you all can assume that our people have lost confidence and trust on government. The government had used these types of opportunities for their benefits. Therefore, the assistance given by various donors should be equally distributed to the affected people without any barrier.
