LTTE Political Team in BerlinIn the third leg of the European tour, the LTTE Team led by the Head of the Political Division Mr.S.P.Tamilselvan arrived in Berlin today 16th March 2005 after visiting Sweden. The first programme of the day was a meeting with Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Ms.Wieczorek-Zeul, in the Ministry complex.Discussions centered round post-Tsunami reconstruction and Development, Joint Mechanism for post-Tsunami management and the Tsunami impact on the peace process. Also present in the discussion was the Norwegian Ambassador in Berlin, Mr.Bjorn Tore Godal. Later in the day, the team met with Head of Section South Asia, German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr.Bernd Borchardt, and German Ambassador in Colombo Mr.Juergen Weerth. Mr.Tamilselvan briefed the Ministry official on the status quo of the proposals worked out by Norway for the formation of a joint mechanism for post Tsunami management. 16 March 2005
