Humanitarian delivery to Tamils in the East – Attempts to sabotage ?
Transport of humanitarian relief items intended for the Tamil people in the East, collected from other parts of the island, is being interrupted enroute, in Habarana and Mahindapura in Trincomalee by gangs who are vocal in their anti-Tamil sentiments.
At the Mahindapura junction, SL Police and military personnel also seem to be colluding with these chauvinistic elements. It is also reported that the SL Military based at Navalady junction in Batticaloa, is insisting on the relief convoys to stop at the check point and obtain permission from the military authority there.
