Two human skulls discovered in land previously occupied by SLA
A Tamil land-owner in Eelali discovered two human skulls in his property. The land was recently vacated by the Sri Lankan Army (SLA) who occupied the land for many years.
The land-owner discovered the skulls, pieces of broken bones and clothing as he was clearing the sand bunds, located near Eelalai Central College. The clothing appeared to be women’s clothing, which leads officials to believe that one or both of the skulls were women.
Upon discovering the skulls, the land-owner informed the Government Agent’s office. The remains were turned in to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for further examination.
